About Kim

The music behind your moment

Hi, I’m Kim, a singing pianist performing at weddings and events across Europe and beyond.

Today, I get to make a living doing what I love, performing at occasions that really matter to people.

A LIFELONG LOVE OF MUSIC

It all started at four

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing violin at four, began singing soon afterwards and discovered the piano later on.

By the time I was older, I knew music was what I wanted to do professionally. Singing while playing piano just clicked for me, and it still does.

One of my favourite things about performing is that no two events ever feel quite the same.

FROM MANCHESTER ONWARDS

Where it became a career

In 2013, I moved to Manchester, and that became the start of my professional career in the UK. I went on to spend nearly seven years as resident singer at The Lowry Hotel, performing week after week for hotel guests, private events and special occasions.

Manchester also brought some opportunities I’ll never forget, including performing at The Bridgewater Hall with a 17-piece swing orchestra.

Over the years, the work took me further afield too, from weddings and private celebrations to hotels and events across Europe.

SELECTED HIGHLIGHTS

Some familiar faces

Over the years, I’ve had some familiar faces in the audience, including Tom Jones, Priscilla Presley, The Weeknd, Oasis, Sam Smith, Julia Roberts, Burt Bacharach, Rita Ora and José Mourinho.

I’ve also performed at private celebrations, including Louis van Gaal’s birthday.

BEHIND THE PIANO

It’s always about the people

For me, performing is about much more than working through a set list. I pay attention to the room, the people and the energy, and respond to what’s happening around me.

Sometimes that means keeping the music elegant and understated. Other times, everyone is singing along and it becomes a much bigger part of the celebration. I love both.

Knowing when to stay in the background and when to lift the room is a big part of what I do.

You’ll often spot my partner Volker with me at events. He helps behind the scenes too.

TRUSTED OVER TIME

Relationships that last…

One of the things I value most about this work is being invited back.

Since 2018, I’ve been returning to Wentbridge House in West Yorkshire, where I’m one of their recommended suppliers. My relationship with the venue began when I first performed for the Page family, and I’m still working with both the family and the hotel today. Over the years, I’ve returned for weddings, venue events and many other occasions.

In the Netherlands, I’m also a recommended supplier at Kasteel De Hooge Vuursche, named Wedding Venue of the Year 2026, another venue I’ve had the pleasure of returning to over the years.

Being asked back year after year means a lot to me. Those long-standing relationships are something I’m genuinely proud of.
